COMPLEX OPERATING UNIT
The clinical and surgical activity of the Bietti Foundation is divided into specific diagnostic-therapeutic paths according to the most recent scientific evidence.
The Complex Ophthalmology Operating Unit, directed by Dr. Tommaso Rossi , carries out clinical-surgical care activities both on an outpatient and inpatient basis at the Ophthalmological Centre located in the British Hospital
The individual Simple Operating Units, following the principle of super-specialization, focus on a particular area of ophthalmology, both from a surgical and clinical point of view.
The main types of surgical interventions are retinal detachment, corneal transplantation, glaucoma-related interventions, cataract surgery and corneal cross-linking.
The outpatient activity is also divided according to the therapeutic diagnostic pathways with dedicated outpatient spaces divided according to the following Simple Operating Units to which they belong:
The Specialist Clinics are also flanked by a General Clinic, the Pediatrics, Ophthalmoplastic and Oncology Clinic.
The first contact with users is in the General Ophthalmology Clinic, where the initial diagnostic classification takes place for the possible start to the next path of taking charge in specialist clinics.
In addition to the surgeries of each Simple Operating Unit and general outpatient clinics, the following clinics are also active:
- Pediatric ophthalmology outpatient clinic
- Ophthalmoplasty outpatient clinic
- Eye oncology outpatient clinic
