  • clinical trials: observational studies, clinical studies phase II, III and IV.

In the period January-December 2010, the G. B. Bietti Foundation - IRCCS carried out a series of important clinical research projects aimed both at identifying pathophysiological mechanisms and applying innovative therapeutic approaches in the field of various ophthalmological pathologies. 
Clinical trials involve the provision of advanced services for the diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmological diseases without any obligation for the NHS. In order to have a dimension of the services provided to patients enrolled in Clinical Trials, it should be considered that in 2010 services were provided to 341 patients for a total of about 10230 services. This amount of work, in addition to representing an advantage for the citizens of the Lazio Region, has allowed IRCCS Bietti Foundation to carry out advanced researches, the object of its institutional mission, and to publish the results in 56 scientific publications in 2010, with a significant increase in scientific production compared to the years 2008 and 2009.
